Sophia Christos

Sophia Christos is a junior undergraduate majoring in Allied Health Sciences with a minor in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is on a Pre-Physician’s Assistant Track and is currently working as an EMT to gain patient and healthcare experience. She has also completed internships in both hospital and rehabilitation settings. She has always had an interest in finding ways to give back to the community and create a better healthcare environment. She has participated in service trips to Sri Lanka and Ghana and plans on attending more in the future. These trips have allowed her to both witness and help the healthcare systems in both the urban and rural areas of these countries. She volunteered in the hospitals and learned from the doctors and nurses. She also went into the more rural villages and helped test the local communities for malaria and Hepatitis B. These experiences led to her wanting to do more to help the community, specifically in the healthcare setting, which is why she decided to join the HeathCare Lab.
